THE R&B/SOUL band, PLUSH, has its roots in the St. Louis-Metro East area. Conceptualized by its front-man, Dana Austin, this experienced group of musicians has been playing together for years. They are a performance and dance band with a peerless abiliity to engage any audience with their soulful and infectiously "feel good" sound and on-point vocals. Band Member Spotlight...Dana Austin
Mr. Dana Austin, an East Saint Louis native, is a singer and songwriter. Dana’s love for singing and entertaining began very early at the age of 7. Greatly influenced by the popular R & B and Soul music of the day, he began much in the way many entertainers do, performing for family and friends at local functions and gatherings. His pristine vocal talent and exceptional ability to engage an audience did not go unnoticed by his listeners and soon, with the encouragement of supportive family and friends, Mr. Austin began pursuing music as more than a just a youthful hobby. Mr. Austin began to hone his natural singing ability and keen ear for music to pursue singing professionally, performing in venues all over the Saint Louis and Metro East areas. Serving as lead or ensemble vocalist for such well known area groups as Boogie Chyld, Soulful Sound, HoneyVoxx Dance Band, and Outrage, Dana has opened for such musical talents as Ella Fitzgerald, Kenny G, Levert, Tony Terry, The Chilites, The Dramatics, Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes, Najee, Tyrone Davis, Allison Williams, Latimore, and Morris Day & The Time. Mr. Austin has also performed as a solo artist in Canada, Morocco, and other countries abroad. Dana’s infectious personality, soulful voice, and commitment to giving a memorable performance at every opportunity make him a truly exceptional entertainer.
